If You Bike, You Better Stretch
I know half of the country is covered with snow, but where I live many citizens were out riding their shiny, new Christmas bikes.
While it is true that biking is considered to be kinder to the leg joints than running, that by no way means that whether you ride you don’t need to stretch. Biking works the entire leg and you really need to stretch out your legs both before and after your ride.
Here are four muscle groups you need to stretch and urls to explanations of those target areas:
- Quadriceps – try that simple standing quad stretch. You can do it anywhere.
- Glutes – that figure four will certainly start to release the booty.
- Hamstrings – check out these two methods for lengthening the backs of your legs.
- Calves – these two calf stretches are great after a lengthy ride.
